To help the fight against Covid-19 in Nepal D4D partnered with Robotics Association of Nepal (RAN), Biotechnology Society of Nepal (BSN) and Biomedical Engineering Foundation Nepal (BEFN) in the creation of Mission Oxygen Team with Nepal Biomedical Association (NBA).
The team and the portal will work to keep bio medical equipment in hospitals across the country in working condition as a shortage of them during the last wave brought many difficulties to the Nepali people. With the completion of the portal, D4D now seeks to help MOT in training additional engineers on biomedical equipment such as ventilators, oxygen concentrators, oxygen plants and others.
MOT is working closely with government agencies and hospitals for the implementation of this project. MoHP will likely provide ownership and strategic guidance during the implementation of the project while a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nepal Health Research Council (NHRC) and District Health Office (DHO), Bhaktapur are underway. UNDP’s Accelerator Lab will also be supporting the project in the additional training of Biomedical Engineers.
